The products you will find here at The Toasty Wick have all been carefully selected. It is my hope and dream to leave a better world for our children and grandchildren. We are constantly looking for products made in the USA, made by Women owned companies, made by communities in developing countries, that follow fair trade standards and companies that support social good. My goal is to have more than 80% of my products sourced from small businesses and people helping people.

 

The Toasty Wick also has products that have been saved from our landfills and repurposed into something beautiful. We are always on the lookout for candle accessories that have life left in them. Don't be surprised if your order comes packed in a recycled/reused box with recycled packing material.

About Sunset Scents Candles:

Sunset Scents is a home fragrance company, established in 2020, by two women who had worked in the candle industry for over 20 years. Both women are former Gold Canyon Candle executives with a vast knowledge of candle making and fragrance compounding. After, Gold Canyon abruptly and unexpectantly went out of business, Sunset Scents was born. They have partnered with the same fragrance house as their former employer, so you may find some of your old GC favorites in the Sunset Scents fragrance collection. All Sunset Scents products are made in Mesa, Arizona and have gone through extensive testing for quality and safety. The candles are made in small batches and many components of the production process are completed by hand.

Our Wax...Sunset Scents candles are made of food grade paraffin wax which is non-toxic and has the perfect consistency to hold a high concentration of fragrance oils. Food grade paraffin wax is a blend of vegetable oils, palm oil, resins and other materials. This type of paraffin has been fully refined and stripped of all impurities. It is edible and is used to help food look good and stay fresh. It is commonly used in making candy, aging hard cheese and as a coating on fruits and vegetables to keep them fresh. Paraffin wax is also used in crayons, cosmetics and medical ointments.

Our Wicks...The wicks are made of 100% cotton. Some of our wicks have a zinc core. The zinc core helps the wick remain ridge and in place as the candle is being poured and as the wax melts when the candle is burned. The EPA has found that neither the cotton nor zinc have been shown to emit toxins in candle wicks. Lead in candle wicks has been banned for over 20 years. You would struggle to find a candle with a lead wick being sold in the U.S., unless it had been imported from a country that does not adhere to the same standards as the U.S. The National Candle association recommends buying U.S. made candles to ensure all safety standards have been followed. Sunset Scents is a member of the National Candle Association.
